Through time spent with a spiritual companion you can begin to find a deeper awareness of the presence and movement of God in your everyday life. The companion is a listening and supportive person who creates an environment where you can look honestly at your relationship with God. Spiritual accompaniment is not counselling. In general, therapy and counselling deal primarily with problem areas of one's life and attempt to bring healthy resolution to issues. Spiritual accompaniment is concerned with discerning and responding to God - in the midst of pain or disorder and joys in all of life. Problem solving is not the primary focus of spiritual accompaniment. Mandy is happy to discuss this and if it is right for you. Spiritual accompaniment can be a one off session or regularly either in person or online. It would usually be for an hour once every 6 - 8 weeks although it can be more or less frequent. His specialist area is in working with children and young people particularly around the affects of parental separation and bereavement. He offers training to schools, hospices, churches and other agencies and has previously delivered training for Child Bereavement UK. He is a qualified counsellor accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and an experienced trainer. His style of working means that he promises not to be judgemental and will value you as a person who is capable of finding your own solutions given a supportive environment.
